The 16-hr course required to acquire a permit to carry a handgun for personal protection as an Illinois resident. It is a mandatory 16 hours packed with the legal information and skill building techniques and live-fire training designed for civilians. Time passes very quickly as the course is interesting, engaging and empowering, not to mention safe and simple to understand.

These classes are designed to take the basics you have learned to the next level and help you increase the odds you will prevail in a life-threatening self-defense situation. There are multiple courses that you can take at your own pace and designed to help you master the tips and techniques to become more proficient within you busy schedule. After all, when you decide to become your own bodyguard and first responder in today's world, you do not have a lifetime to master the safe use of firearms or how to do so in your home or in pubic. We even have training memberships to save $.
Although our teaching style addresses the individual needs of each student in the class, there are times that student prefer some one-on-one instruction for different reasons. Some prefer to have an instructor by their side each step of the way and to avoid the dynamic of a large group, others are looking to have an instructor observe the things that the student may not have just right and to be able to stop at will and ask questions without interrupting the flow of the course at hand. Whatever reason you may be seeking one-on-one instruction, we are here for you.

Proof of CCW Permit is required prior to the start of class. (Course is 2 hours Classroom w/IL Law Review + 1 hour Firearms Training w/Qualification Shooting at Range.) Course will be at least 3hrs.
CLASS WILL COVER ALL STATE REQUIRED ELEMENTS TO FULFILL YOUR APPLICATION FOR A CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT. WE WILL ALSO COVER THE ACTUAL APPLICATION PROCESS, AS WELL AS OTHER ITEMS NEEDED FOR YOU TO COMPLETE THE STATE’S PERMIT APPLICATION ON LINE.
Please bring eye and hearing protection, your firearm and least 100 rounds of ammo.

This is a basic overview for those new to concealed carry and home defense who would like to learn more about carrying a gun for self-protection and protecting yourself and others within your home.
This is an exclusive course taught only by SFWA Certified Instructors and it is available for you at Fox River Firearms Training. When you complete this course you will be amazed at your shot placement accuracy, the ability to consistently improve your pistol shooting skills and determine your 100% accuracy distance.
We rarely have cancellations. However, cancellations must be done 5 days prior to the start of the class. Please email or call. Classes that are canceled will be rescheduled for a later date. No refunds. Important, if you do not get a reply that we have received your cancellation email, you must contact us by phone to assure that your cancellation is timely received. We will work with you to reschedule a class as possible.
